The General Moot, First Year Moot and Women’s Moot are the largest and most prestigious competitions offered by the Monash Law Students’ Society. By participating in this competition, you will have the opportunity to sharpen your legal thinking in an adversarial environment representative of a real courtroom. Many of your abilities will be tested and improved – including legal research, effective and efficient communication of legal arguments, teamwork, responding to bench questions under pressure, and many more. These skills are best developed through practice, making competitions like the General Moot an integral and important part of your legal education.
