The Disability and Wellbeing office aims to promote equity in education and professional development for law students in spite of ability or circumstance. In 2026, the office is endeavouring to promote more commonplace accessibility practices across the society; we also continue to evaluate our support methods and resource provision. The office is currently developing a new Accessibility and Equity Checklist to open LSS events up to more students.
Known Disability and Wellbeing events will continue to run. A Resourceful Seminar will return where students can learn about available resources and services to support their academic or professional development. There will be a morning tea held each semester, providing a space for students to discuss concerns with subcommittee members. Treats and refreshments will be available for students with events such as Wellness Week, R U Ok Day and Study Snack Stands; Kaz will also return for weekly visits. Disability in the Law Panel, also a networking night, centres on accessibility in the legal profession. We anticipate the sitting of esteemed legal practitioners who will provide valuable insights into Australian Law’s move towards equitable practices and pathways.
